My main 'issue' is that what I think must be a pen loop on the inside is too small. Otherwise the quality after only a few days use appears excellent.

This is my second Filofax, with the first (Richmond personal size) still going strong after about 30 years. The good: ring-binder quality is as good as ever and there is no clash between it and the zip as i have seen reported re other organisers. The zip is of a high quality, opens and closes smoothly and is relaxed so it doesn’t rub against the hand when writing. The elastics for pens are a little tight but better than too loose and will certainly loosen with use. The stitching is impeccable and pockets inside and out are well placed. It lays wonderfully flat. The open outer pocket also doubles up as a handy carrying handle. The not as good: the zip on the other outer pocket is exposed so could potentially scratch surfaces. This pocket is also very tight to access so i would be less likely to use it. The big downer for me is that the leather is so thin and over-treated as to feel plasticky / varnished and high gloss. The leather smell is only feint whereas my previous one still smells fresh after all these years whilst having a nicely worn in feel and look. I really hope the patina on the Lockwood calms down eventually and it gains some character with use as this is why i chose leather over synthetic. Still a concern that leather so thin it will need looking after, rather than rough and tumble in and out of bags etc. However, all that said, i would still buy it again and wouldn’t want to dissuade others. Its a solid 4 stars.

Quality item.

I have lots of agenda planners, including Gucci, Prada and Franklin Covey. I added Filofax just 5 years ago because I like the leather color. I then added the Crocodile baby blue and have been hooked ever since. They are not overly padded under the leather like Franklin Covey, and the stitching is solid. I sometimes order from the UK to get the sold out styles. My recent Cognac set are beautiful and match my bags and shoes. I really love how you can actually see the real grain and it isn't overly coated. You don't need to worry about scratches on the soft leather ones either (the product descriptions will note). You can use shoe polishes to shin them up like old times. I have my keys with the small one in my bag. They will look new forever. I get comments from clients all the time. These are great fashion accessories and the complimentary app is very cool too.
