OUR STORY
At Filofax, we develop high-quality stationery that blends design and function. We believe our products are not complete until you make them your own, which is why they are highly versatile and customisable. Since the creation of the 6-ring personal organiser, our mission has been to inspire you to make the most of your day, every day.
MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN
Norman and Hill Ltd. was founded in London on June 6, 1921 by British Army Colonel Disney, William Rounce and Posseen Hill. Years later, our company changed its name to Filofax.
FILE OF FACTS
The first personal organiser was created: a high-quality leather binder with ring mechanism and flexible loose-paper inserts - a “File of Facts” that would eventually give our company its name.
KEEPING INFO SAFE
During World War II, our offices were destroyed. Key information about customers and suppliers was stored in the organiser that secretary Grace Scurr took home every night, enabling Filofax to keep operating.
THE SYMBOL OF AN ERA
The popularity of Filofax organisers grew enormously during the 1980's due to its association with the Yuppie culture, making our brand an iconic symbol of the decade.
NEW HORIZONS
Our product portfolio evolved from business diaries to multiple tools to help achieve work life balance. Filofax started its international expansion, growing in Europe, North America and Asia.
A CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION
Filofax celebrated its first century with the launch of the Centennial Collection, a limited-edition capsule specially designed to pay homage to our brand history with today’s user in mind.
